Every male, some at more risk than others, if they live long enough, face the risk of developing prostate cancer. The National Cancer Institute predicted about 186,000 American men would be diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2008, and an estimated 29,000 men would die of the cancer. Final results for 2008 are not yet compiled.
